A river might not look like it’s working but it always is—ask the rocks it’s moving around, the banks it’s digging out. A river makes its work look effortless, which of course is the measure of art. I think it’s a very rare occurrence when a poem of mine reaches this ideal.”

Volunteer
Volunteers are the heart beat of our project. Without the hours of work our volunteers give, the Skagit River Poetry Project and Festival could not be possible.
There are many opportunities for volunteers, everything from hosting fund raising events, housing poets, driving to the airports to pick up visitors to the festival, posting publicity and monitoring venues during the Festival.
